The “N” Word – Learning to Say “No” [Episode #005]

This week we talk about the “N” word and why we think we should all learn to use it more. It will help us in every aspect of our lives from work to family to faith. It’s not what you think.

The Importance of Saying “No”

We share a few examples from our own experience having to learn to say no. Also, we talk about the areas of our own lives were we struggle to be able to say no. And saying no isn’t just about being selfish with our time, but about learning to value our time as a precious commodity and that by saying no to certain things we are actually saying yes to others. Lastly, we talk about how to decide whether to say yes or no and the process of discernment we use in our lives.

Dave Ramsey on Learning to Say “No”

Today’s topic was actually inspired by finance specialist Dave Ramsey and rant he went into on his radio show. We love his enthusiasm and candor and the way he bluntly, but honestly tells it like it is. You can watch the video here.

Quote of the Week

“Burning the candle at both ends for God’s sake may be foolishness to the world, but it is a profitable Christian exercise for so much better the light! Only one thing in life matters: being found worthy of the Light of the world in the hour of His visitation. We need have no fear for our health if we work hard for the Kingdom of God; God will take care of our health if we take care of His cause. In any case, it is better to burn out than to rust out.”
Venerable Archbishop Fulton Sheen
